Directed by Guo Donghai, a graduate from Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, Substitute Lover depicts the story of a young woman called Mary who discovers that her boyfriend has another lover and doubts that she is just a substitute. Through the role of Mary, played by Wang Weiwei, Guo attempts to express complex love relationships.
