Hangzhou Party secretary Huang Kunming convened with SportAccord President Hein Verbruggen yesterday.
The city just hosted the 7th National City Sports Meeting and 8th National Para Games, and Hangzhou wished to cooperate with SportAccord to organize more sports meetings to satisfy the demand for high-level sports games from residents, Huang said.
SportAccord was formed in 1978 to promote communication and cooperation among various international sports federations.
Verbruggen, 70, has been a Dutch honorary member of the International Olympic Committee since 2008. Previously, he was a member of the IOC and Chairman of the Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing in 2008.
Vice Mayor Chen Xiaoping also attended the meeting.
