The Hangzhou metro operator has prepared 49 emergency plans for various scenarios after receiving suggestions from residents.
The emergency plans cover security, medication, power supply and insurance. And the operator plans to make four more emergency plans on firefighting, natural disasters, anti-terrorism and epidemic prevention.
A public security bureau has been set up with 140 policemen for the subway network and each Metro station will have a police office so that passengers can get help when needed.
The operator is in discussions with the transport authority to make interchange plans between subway stations and buses. And transport police are preparing parking areas for bicycles around the stations. Parking spaces for cars have been reserved at Wulin Plaza and Jiubao Transport Center stations.
A transport card for both buses and subways, similar to the one in Shanghai, is set to debut before Metro Line 1 opens in October.
